The opportunity

A cooperative clerk needs a record that works in the field. A processing manager needs stock figures that agree with the store. We plan the systems, integration and support that let people do those jobs.

Digital services need usable systems

Government’s FY2029/30 e-government targets imply more transactions and more connections between systems. For a customer, useful IT means a task can be completed, a payment reconciled and a missing record found. Implementation needs training and support as well as software.

Infrastructure gives organisations options

Raxio’s Namanve facility is an example of local data-centre capacity. The choice between hosted, cloud and local systems still depends on connectivity, resilience, cost and the customer’s data obligations. AVERON does not claim to own a data centre or partner with its operator.

Digital growth has conditions

GSMA’s Uganda analysis models UGX 14.6trn of additional economic value by 2030 under policy reforms. It points to affordability, skills and coordinated energy and digital infrastructure. This is a conditional national scenario, not revenue available to AVERON.

Security starts with the specification

We plan access controls, backups, a tested recovery process and clear responsibility for software updates. Where personal data is involved, the system design must support lawful collection, limited access, retention and correction.,

What AVERON will do

Stages describe the proposed sequence. Progress depends on the decision gate for each stage; no commissioning date is promised.

  1. NowIn development

    Specify our own systems

Develop FarmGate and the shared farmer record around field workflows, stock, deliveries and payments.

Decision gateA tested workflow and a documented owner for each record.

  2. NextPlanned

    Deliver defined projects

Offer software, integration and security work to cooperatives, programmes and smaller businesses after establishing delivery and support capacity.

Decision gateA scoped specification, acceptance criteria and an affordable support agreement.

  3. LaterPlanned

    Provide recurring support

Consider managed IT and support contracts for institutions, with responsibilities and service levels agreed in writing.

Decision gateStaffing, recovery tests and evidence that service commitments can be met.

What the capability includes

Software and integration
Build or configure tools around workflows, with documented interfaces and acceptance tests.
Hosting, connectivity and security
Select suitable infrastructure and manage access, updates, backups and recovery.
Equipment and support
Supply, deployment, user training and support, with ownership and replacement duties agreed.
  1. Field devices
  2. Secure connection
  3. Shared platform
  4. Useful dashboards

How it earns

These are proposed arrangements. Contracts, pricing, operating costs and any regulatory permissions would be confirmed for each activity.

Implementation projects
Fees for software development, configuration, migration and integration.
Subscriptions and support
Recurring platform and support fees for a defined scope of service.
Equipment supply
Supply and deployment margins, with warranties and support responsibilities specified.

A system’s running costs and support obligations belong in the original proposal. AVERON does not publish service-level commitments it has not staffed and tested.

How it connects

IT would maintain the shared systems used by each pillar. Data defines the records and validation; Finance needs reconciliation; Energy and mobility need equipment histories. Consultancy helps translate an operating need into a specification before procurement.

  • To AgricultureField systems

Risks and how we manage them

The responses below are part of the proposed delivery approach. They need to be funded, assigned and checked before operations expand.

RiskProposed response
Systems that staff cannot useTest field workflows with users, document the task and provide training before rollout.
Security and data lossLimit access, keep updates current, test backups and document incident responsibilities.
Vendor dependenceRequire exportable data, documented interfaces and clear handover terms.
Unsustainable supportScope the service, name its owner and fund support before signing recurring contracts.
