Why East Africa, why now

AVERON starts where Uganda’s economy starts: the farm. Our cooperative network provides a starting point for developing supply and understanding demand. New sectors would first address the needs of our proposed operations, then seek customers in the wider market.

The figures below explain the context. They combine reported observations and clearly labelled scenarios; they are not forecasts of AVERON revenue or returns.

Our DMI network includes 39 cooperatives and 21,832 member farmers. Processing, energy and digital capabilities would be developed in stages as projects secure approvals and funding.

One connected group

A processing plant needs crop supply, power, equipment and records. A farmer needs dependable services and prompt payment. We plan shared capabilities around those specific needs, with each project responsible for its own commercial case.

Where each pillar stands

Agriculture is the foundation. The other business lines and the CSR programme are planned. Internal demand is a development starting point, not a signed offtake contract.

How we structure investment

Project companies
Major investments sit in separate project companies with their own accounts. Project-specific diligence must confirm the assets, liabilities, security and contracts.
Staged capital
Preparation, approvals, construction and expansion have separate decision gates. A later stage should not be funded simply because an earlier stage has begun.
Demand before expansion
Start with the needs of proposed AVERON operations, test the use case and require evidence of viable wider demand before adding capacity.
Governance and review
The site sets out the proposed Board, Audit and Risk Committee and Technical Advisory Panel arrangements. Review governance →
Licensed where regulated
AVERON is not a licensed bank, lender or payment provider. Regulated finance would use appropriately licensed partners or follow licensing. Data services require lawful collection and applicable registration.,,
Evidence and reporting
Separate observations, assumptions and targets. Agree project reporting, financial controls and review rights in the actual investment documents.

These describe the proposed approach; transaction terms remain to be agreed.,

Risks we take seriously

RiskProposed response
Execution and fundingGate each commitment on reviewed feasibility, approvals, a delivery team and confirmed funds. A prepared study is not financial close.
Power and infrastructureAssess each site’s supply and backup requirements, and include maintenance and replacement costs.
Foreign-exchange exposureMatch funding and contracts to actual currency exposure; stage imported equipment commitments.
Regulation and customer protectionConfirm sector permissions, use licensed finance partners and establish lawful data arrangements before services launch.
Climate and crop supplyAssess water, diversify supply where practical, test storage and quality controls and explore suitable insurance.

Proposed responses need project-level review and funding. The group’s breadth does not remove execution, market or regulatory risk.
