The opportunity

Before a project seeks capital, someone has to check its market, site, supply, costs and risks. We have prepared our own programme study and plan to offer the same preparation discipline to other projects.

East Africa now

A large pipeline still needs preparation

The IEA’s Uganda pathway requires annual energy investment to rise to USD 8bn by 2030. A funding need becomes a financeable project only when the site, demand, approvals, contracts and risks are understood. The figure is a national scenario, not a financing commitment.

Trade policy creates practical questions

AfCFTA’s modelled gains depend on implementation and lower trade costs. A manufacturer considering a new line needs a product market study, standards analysis, logistics plan and working-capital assessment. A broad market forecast cannot replace those checks.

Own work is the starting evidence

AVERON has prepared a draft feasibility study for its proposed Integrated Programme and published a review of regional food demand. The study remains a preparation document; it does not mean the programme has reached financial close.,

What AVERON will do

Stages describe the proposed sequence. Progress depends on the decision gate for each stage; no commissioning date is promised.

  1. NowOwn work prepared

    Prepare AVERON’s programme

Develop the draft feasibility study, project structure and supporting research for AVERON’s agricultural plans.

Decision gateStakeholder review, assumptions checked and gaps recorded.

  2. NextPlanned client service

    Take on scoped preparation work

Offer defined feasibility, programme-design and project-preparation assignments with clear deliverables and an evidence register.

Decision gateSuitable expertise, a conflict check and an agreed scope.

  3. LaterPlanned

    Support delivery and monitoring

Consider retained project support and monitoring work, with independent specialist input where required.

Decision gateNamed responsibilities, documented review and a sustainable delivery team.

How it earns

These are proposed arrangements. Contracts, pricing, operating costs and any regulatory permissions would be confirmed for each activity.

Preparation fees
Fixed-fee or time-based studies and project-preparation assignments.
Monitoring and advisory
Defined recurring or milestone-based support, with deliverables and review responsibilities agreed.

Fees would pay for work delivered. Any relationship that could affect independence would be disclosed before an assignment is accepted.

How it connects

Consultancy would prepare the technical and commercial case for each pillar, using field evidence from Agriculture, Data and IT. Energy and industrial proposals need specialist review. The same preparation methods could later support external clients without implying that AVERON has already completed their projects.

Risks and how we manage them

The responses below are part of the proposed delivery approach. They need to be funded, assigned and checked before operations expand.

RiskProposed response
Weak or unsupported assumptionsMaintain a source register, test sensitivities and state evidence gaps and exclusions.
Conflicts of interestDisclose group interests and define independent review where AVERON is also a project sponsor.
Insufficient specialist capacityScope work to available expertise and appoint qualified specialists when needed.
Confusing preparation with fundingReport study completion separately from approvals, commitments and financial close.

Project-specific diligence remains necessary. Our delivery and risk approach →
