About AVERON.

Our company, our cooperative network in Teso, and our plans across eight sectors in Uganda and East Africa.

Who we are

AVERON RMH Holdings Ltd is a Kampala-based holding company, founded in agriculture and growing into industry, energy and digital services for Uganda and the wider East African region.

Our agricultural plans connect production, inputs, crop collection, processing and sales. The DMI cooperative network is the foundation; the Grain Hub and Integrated Programme remain in development. One proposed farmer record connects the services, deliveries and payments.

We are adding six planned sectors: industrialisation, energy, data and analytics, fintech, information technology and consultancy. Each starts with what the agricultural business needs, then serves outside clients. Our CSR programme runs across the group.

Our starting point is a network of 39 rural producer cooperatives in Teso with 21,832 member farmers, organised by our project company DMI Ltd. Teso is home to 2.46 million people, and 47.3% of its households still live in the subsistence economy, against 33% nationally., Our projects focus on crop production, storage and processing in this region.

We also prepared the draft feasibility study for the Integrated Agricultural, Agro-Industrial & Food Security Development Programme, a five-year programme now presented for stakeholder endorsement.

Vision, mission and values

Vision
A food-secure, prosperous East Africa that grows, makes and powers what it needs.
Mission
To build and run businesses in agriculture, industry, energy and digital services that raise farmer incomes, create skilled jobs, strengthen food security and supply reliable, traceable products and services to the region.
Promise
People, resources, a stronger tomorrow.

Values

  • Farmers as partnersWe grow when the farmer's income grows. Contracts are fair, prices are transparent and payment is fast.
  • IntegrityWe report what we know and say what we do not. Every figure we publish links to its source.
  • Quality and safetyFood and feed that are tested, graded and traceable from plot to buyer.
  • StewardshipHealthy soils, careful water use and deforestation-free supply.
  • EvidenceDecisions taken on measured results, not assumptions.
  • Long-term thinkingAssets and relationships built to last beyond any one season.

Vision, mission and values are proposed for adoption by the Board.

How we work

Our model combines inputs on credit with a crop purchase agreement. The farmer receives seed and fertiliser on credit through the cooperative, delivers the harvest to an AVERON collection centre where it is weighed and graded, and is paid by mobile money with the credit deducted.

Delivery and repayment records let processors check crop supply and lenders assess a farmer’s repayment history.

Five steps from farm to market, with one farmer record connecting them and payment flowing back to the farmer
Five steps from field to market, one farmer record connecting them, and cash that flows back to the farmer.

Uganda's plan for a USD 500 billion economy by 2040 names agriculture first among the sectors expected to move from growing to processing, storage and export.,

Group structure

AVERON is a holding company with eight sectors. Agriculture, where we operate today, has six divisions, a shared farmer data platform, a research and innovation unit, and project companies. The other sectors are planned.

Each new capability first addresses a need in our proposed operations: power for processing, records for payments, systems for field work and preparation before financing. Wider commercial services would follow demonstrated demand.
